Karnataka Governments Department of Education locks an MOU with Embassy Group

Embassy Group has locked in a Memorandum of Understanding with Karnataka Governments Department of Education for holistic growth of children of Bengaluru and surrounding areas. The MOU entails providing support to 16 government and semi-aided institutes to improve their knowledge patterns and skill capabilities.

Why was the MoU signed?

The MOU, signed for the next two years was signed between the Government of Karnataka Department of Education and Embassy Groups Managing Director Jitu Virwani.

It would include designing courses that look into deficiencies in learning outcomes of students and focus on targeted oriented results.

The syllabi and teaching will be our focus areas so that results show an upward trend.

Beautification of public spaces, retrofitting of old government schools, public parks and enhancing their liveability index
Implementing health and hygiene projects on sanitation and basic cleanliness

Together, they have mobilized over 900 corporate employees and provided a positive and long-lasting impact on city developers.

Is the Corporate Social Responsibility model sustainable?

Speaking on the collaboration between government agencies and corporate houses, SR Umanshankar, the Principal Secretary of Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Karnataka said to PTI, "The endeavor of Embassy Group through their community outreach team in mobilizing CSR funds, NGOs and their zeal in strengthening primary education is laudable. Hope they carry the torch and lead other corporate companies in providing facilities to needy children."

This MOU is another feather in the cap of Embassy Group that will show hope to other agencies to undertake socially responsive schemes that make education more enjoyable and employable.
